This project is very similar to the one featured in Fine Homebuilding. We built a new roof over the existing, sprayed foam insulation in between the new roof rafters and then installed metal on top of the new sheathing. This is an excellent, economical fix for buildings with insulation and ice dam issues in need of a new roof.
