Robert Reap
Robert Reap, co-owner and founder of Reap Construction, has worked as a General Contractor and Carpenter for over 20 years. Robert began his career in Pennsylvania, where he grew up, and worked in Boston, MA and Bridgewater, VT before settling in Richmond in 1997. His experience in the trade ranges from overseeing large commercial jobs to working hands-on on home building, renovations, additions and roofs.
Robert is well respected by fellow contractors and has a reputation for quality work both in the trade and amongst his clients. He educates himself on the best possible practices for home and commercial building by continuously taking seminars, reading the trade publications, and researching issues builders face every day. However, what Robert is probably best known for is his attitude. He is straightforward, fair and honest and for those reasons, clients, other contractors and his employees love to work with him.

Joy Reap
Joy has worked with husband Robert in the construction trade since her college days. She started in the field doing light carpentry, roofing, and painting and then moved on to administrative tasks. Though she took an extended break from the day-to-day work during her 6 years at a local marketing firm, she continued to collaborate with Robert on the design and management of various projects and helped to guide our company to where it is today.
Joy returned to Reap Construction full time once again in 2004 as Project Manager and Administrative Director. Her practical knowledge of all aspects of construction along with her excellent communication skills makes her a valuable bridge between the tradesmen and our clients. Joy is experienced in managing large budgets with in-depth schedules and vast amounts of information. She is also a keen negotiator and her attention to the bottom line results in projects coming in at or below budget. Joy's attention to detail and tireless work ethic have earned her the respect of clients and contractors alike. Those talents have already and undoubtedly will continue to help Reap Construction grow.

Ted Reap
An extraordinary carpenter, our cousin, and just a great guy; we are proud to have Ted Reap on our team. In his 20+ years experience in carpentry, Ted has overseen and worked hands-on on numerous additions, barns, and new house builds. His no-nonsense attitude, along with a great sense of humor makes him a great mentor for all of our carpenters and laborers.
Ted began his career in the field of construction at the University of Scranton, where he earned an Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Since then, Ted has worked as a Carpenter for a handful of companies over the past 20 years. Ted was Lead Carpenter for Blake Construction and acted as General Contractor on the construction of a large residential home in Colorado before coming to work for Reap Construction in November of 2003. Ted's experience in the trade includes cabinet making, framing, remodeling, general contracting, and all aspects of finish carpentry.

James McCormack
Jamie McCormack has been with Reap Construction since May of 2006 and has been an invaluable addition to our team. Jamie grew up in Rutland and gained some experience in the field of construction by working for his dad as an electrician’s helper during summers in high school. After graduating from Castleton State College, he lived in Rutland and Nantucket working as a carpenter’s helper, and then moved to Burlington in the spring of ’06. Jamie came to us with an incredible work ethic and an eagerness to learn more about the carpentry end of construction and has amazed everyone with his growth and quick grasp of advanced framing, roofing and trim techniques. He has also impressed us with his ability to manage a project and keep our clients best interests in mind at all times. Most importantly, Jamie is the guy we can count on to get a job done, no matter what the situation is. He will do everything in his power to make sure he doesn’t let us or our clients down, and for that we are truly thankful.

Matthew Dyer
Matt Dyer began his career in construction in 2003 working for a small builder in Massachusetts where he learned the basics of many aspects of carpentry. Lucky for us, he decided to move to Burlington and joined Reap Construction in November of 2006 and has continued to hone those skills. Matt is clearly a gifted finish carpenter who cares about every detail of his work. Matt has also proven to be an excellent client liaison and has successfully helped oversee projects of varying sizes from start to finish. His ability to think ahead and keep a calm, cool head has become a quality that we have come to depend on during all phases of construction. Matt is always a pleasure to work with and we are very fortunate to have him as a part of our team.

During a summer break in 2005 from the University of Vermont, Dave began working in the construction trade as a carpenter's helper in Burlington. He soon realized that he enjoyed many aspects of building and quickly picked up both interior and exterior carpentry skills. Dave started with Reap Construction in April of 2008 and has been an excellent addition to our team. He is hard-working, dependable, consciences and pays attention to the details of our work.

Ken Solt
Ken Solt joined Reap Construction part-time in August of 2008. He also currently studies business administration at the University of Vermont. Ken brings accounting and business management knowledge along with an eye for the details. Like the Reaps, Ken is a Pennsylvania native, but spent many years in Michigan studying and helping to manage a small business. After moving to Vermont in 2005, he returned to school full-time in order to finish his degree. While looking for part-time work he stumbled across an ad for a bookkeeper at a construction company, and has not looked back since. Ken keeps our books up to date, makes sure the bills are paid on time, and is willing to do whatever necessary to keep our clients happy and get the job done right.

Stella Blue Butternut Reap
Stella is the cutest golden retriever in the world – or at least we think she is. Stella joined the Reap team in August of 2008. She happily greets our crew and clients with a gift every time they come to the office. It might be a sock or slobbery bone, but it’s still very sweet. Stella keeps us all on our toes and always brings a smile to our faces. |
